STS-27 Atlantis, Orbiter Vehicle (OV) 104, crewmembers, wearing launch and entry suits (LESs), participate in exercises in the JSC crew compartment trainer (CCT). Four crewmembers are pictured in the stations they will man for the launch and entry phases of the mission. They are joined by the fifth crewmember, "borrowed" for a moment from the middeck. At forward controls are Pilot Guy S. Gardner (left) and Commander Robert L. Gibson. Behind them are Mission Specialist (MS) Richard M. Mullane (left) and MS Jerry L. Ross. MS William M.
