Mukai floats via underarm flotation device or "Mae West's" during the bailout exercise. A portion of the STS-65 crew participated in the exercise. Mukai, representing the National Space Development Agency (NASDA) of Japan, will join six NASA astronauts for the International Microgravity Laboratory 2 (IML-2) mission aboard the Space Shuttle Columbia, Orbiter Vehicle (OV) 102, later this year. |
