The brillant flame of the solid rocket boosters (SRBs) hurled shadows and patches of light into the firing room's interior. Launch of the STS-32 mission at 7:35 am Eastern Standard Time (EST) marked the beginning of a busy year which could see the launch of as many as 10 missions.
