STS-29 IUS with TDRS-D drifts above Earth's surface during post deployment
Description:
During STS-29, the inertial upper stage (IUS) with tracking and data relay satellite D (TDRS-D) drifts above the Earth's cloud-covered surface after deployment from Discovery, Orbiter Vehicle (OV) 103. The white IUS with second stage solid rocket motor (SRM) is clearly visible while the TDRS-D stowed black solar cell panels are barely visible on top of IUS. Nadir Latitude: 22.3 North and Nadir Longitude 133.3 West.
