A parachute for the Galileo spacecraft's atmospheric entry probe is tested in a wind tunnel at NASA's Langley Research Center in Virginia. Galileo consisted of an orbiter and an atmosphere probe that descended into Jupiter's atmosphere on a parachute after being slowed down by a heat shield. The probe entered Jupiter's atmosphere on Dec. 7, 1995.
