Numerous Fires in Southeast Tanzania
Description:
Through a patchwork of clouds, the Mod erate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on the Aqu a satellite detected numerous fires (red dots) burning in Tanzania, Africa, on November 25, 2002. Fires appear to be most heavily concentrated on the Makonde Plateau, north of the Tanzania-Mozambique border. At image right is the Indian Ocean.
