Though flood waters have begun to recede in Bangladesh, much of the country remains water-logged. Light blue clouds partially obscure the false-color scene where vegetation is bright green. According to the Associated Press, 586 had died in Bangladesh as a result of the floods as of August 1, bringing the toll of this year’s floods to 1,551 in India, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Pakistan.
