The MODIS instrument onboard NASA's Terra satellite captured this true-color image of Typhoon Mindulle on June 29, 2004 at 2:20 UTC as the storm was located approximately 450 miles south-southeast of Tapei, Taiwan. At the time this image was taken, Mindulle had sustained winds of 144 mph with higher gusts to 173 mph.
