Title:
Dust off Morocco
Description:
Thick streams of tan dust blow northward off the shores of Morocco into the Atlantic Ocean. West of the dust storm are the Canary Islands. The dust appears to have originated in the Western Sahara, left of the dark brown wrinkle the Atlas Mountains form in the otherwise tan landscape. The Mod erate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) instrument on the Ter ra satellite captured this true-color image on November 4, 2003.

The high resolution image provided above is at 500 meters per pixel. The image is also available at MODIS? maximum spatial resolution of 250 meters per pixel.
