At NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida, the shuttle convoy vehicles move into place around space shuttle Discovery after its landing on Runway 33 at the Shuttle Landing Facility. The convoy is made up of about 25 specially designed vehicles and a team of trained personnel who ''safe'' the shuttle, prepare it for towing, assist the crew in leaving the shuttle, and finally, tow the shuttle to its hangar.
