Description:
Young painters at the Academia de Artes Yepes in East Los Angeles created this 12-by-20 foot mural depicting the Cassini Mission to Saturn -- a joint project of NASA, the European Space Agency and the Italian Space Agency. The huge painting shows the mythological Roman god Saturn, symbolizing Time, drawing back a veil to reveal the mysteries of the Saturnian system to the Cassini spacecraft. The mission will be launched in October 1997, with the spacecraft arriving at Saturn in July 2004 to conduct a four-year tour in orbit around the ringed planet.
