Title:
Temple base
Creator:

Description:
This brick temple base is part of a group of ruins on a mound adjacent to Angkor Wat in Cambodia that has been swallowed up by the forest. The ability of a spaceborne radar system to penetrate the forest cover is leading to new discoveries in the heart of the ancient city of Angkor, including the temple base shown in this photograph. Inscriptions, temple bases and lintel style suggest that it was constructed in the 10th century.
