The region contains some of the world's largest and most diverse mineral resources, most of which are still untouched. This image was acquired by landsat7.usgs.gov/ Landsat 7's Enhanced Thematic Mapper plus (ETM ) sensor on June 22, 2001. This is a false-color composite image made using shortwave infrared, infrared, and red wavelengths.
